Virtual Tours of our Member Schools Now Available

August 15, 2020
With Open Days at many of our member schools being affected by COVID-19 restrictions we realise it is more challenging than ever before for families to visit prospective schools. To facilitate your experience as a prospective family a number of our member schools have now added virtual tours or videos to their school pages.

If you are looking for an IB School for your child, we would encourage you to view the videos and virtual tours available on our school pages.  While the IB brings us together our member schools each have their own philosophies, communities and represent a broad spectrum of educational experiences.  Our member schools include government, catholic and independent schools throughout Australia and New Zealand.

If there is a school you are interested in learning more about, but there is no video or virtual tour on their page please email us at [email protected] and we will be pleased to help connect you with our member schools.

Some common questions from parents:

The school says they are an authorised IB World School, but they aren't on your website. Why is that?

IB Schools Australasia is the Association of IB World Schools for our region.  We currently represent over 160+ schools, but not all authorised IB Schools are members of our association.  You can view the full list of Authorised IB World Schools at: https://www.ibo.org/programmes/find-an-ib-school/

What is an IB Candidate School?

In order to offer one or more International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes of education, schools must complete an authorisation process. This process takes a number of years. Once they have been authorised they are known as IB World Schools.

While they are undertaking the authorisation process they are known as IB Candidate Schools.  IB Candidate Schools can join IB Schools Australasia as an Associate Member School.
