Learning Mentor

• Location: Caulfield Campus 
• Start Date: 1 January 2023 
• Part-Time, Full-Time, Fixed-Term and Permanent opportunities available 

We are seeking Learning Mentors for Caulfield Campus due to commence on 1 January 2023. The successful applicant will be a teacher who is a team player, loves learning and can inspire students to thrive wholistically in their learning and wellbeing.

Learning Mentors practise exclusively with an individual Year 7 or 8 class group to enhance student learning through active cycles of inquiry, action and reflection. The Mentor collaboratively plans and teaches with their classes’ subject-specific teachers to differentiate the learning for the students, advocating for each student's learning. Mentors identify emerging learning or wellbeing opportunities and purposefully connect students, parents, subject teachers and Head of House to enhance student's learning and wellbeing.

Selection Criteria 

• Teaching qualifications with specialisation and experience in a learning area 
• Current VIT Registration 
• Experience in successfully building a culture of learning in a classroom 
• Experience teaching either English or Mathematics in the middle years
• Experience teaching in the Middle Years Programme (IB) preferred
• Experience embedding the Approaches to Learning (IB) or General Capabilities (ACARA) skills in learning area specific curriculum preferred
• The ability to model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours 

At Caulfield Grammar School, we are unique as we work to a specialist employee model. Our professional sports coaching program means that our teaching staff are not required to be part of the sporting program.
