Radford is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teacher-Librarian in the Junior school commencing Term 1 2023

The opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our College for a full-time fixed term permanent Teacher Librarian. Being supported by a capable team of Library Technicians and Assistants who are responsible for cataloguing, ordering, and processing of Library materials, the Teacher Librarians will focus on teaching and learning. Strong understanding of inquiry-based pedagogies, ICT, and the PYP will be highly regarded.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated and energetic team, in an environment that is a continually evolving to meet the needs of our community and emerging trends in school libraries and education. This role, while based in our Junior School, is also part of the College’s Library team and reports to the Head of Library and Information Services.

About you

The successful candidate will be an energetic educator who is motivated by thinking differently about teaching and learning, and who is driven by the creation of engaging and dynamic learning experiences for our students. You will be required to work collaboratively and independently, and be passionate about school libraries and their future.

Candidates must:

Qualifications in

  • Teaching qualification recognised by the ACT Department of Education.
  • Maintain registration as a teacher with the Teacher Quality Institute, including WWVP.
  • Librarian qualifications recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association for Associate membership
  • Bachelor in Librarianship or Teacher Librarianship (or equivalent) as a minimum qualification.
  • Experience with Oliver (LMS) is desirable, but not essential.
