Radford College is seeking a qualified, experienced and innovative teacher to fill the permanent full-time Head of Enrichment position from Term 2 2023.

LEADERSHIP POSITION - HEAD OF ENRICHMENT | 5-year appointment

The opportunity

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced teacher and innovative leader to fill a permanent full-time position, Term 2 2023. The position has responsibility for the Academic Enrichment Department within the Secondary School.

About you

The successful candidate will be an energetic educator who is motivated by thinking differently about teaching and learning and who is driven by the creation of engaging and dynamic learning and enrichment experiences for our students. Candidates must:

  • Be an expert teaching practitioner
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and team leading experience to provide instructional leadership within the subject area/s, particularly
    • the quality of curriculum development and evaluation, and course review and writing
    • the quality of assessment, testing and reporting
    • high standards of student achievement
    • development of appropriate teaching methodologies and high standards of teaching effectiveness for Department members
  • Demonstrate a passion for teaching, pursuing innovative thinking and interdisciplinary learning
  • Be energetic, enthusiastic and demonstrate a willingness to grow through the sharing of best practice and professional experience
  • Possess excellent communications skills both written and verbal, as well as excellent time management skills
  • Promote and participate in pastoral and co-curricular programs, including but not limited to school camps and excursions
  • Commit to the safeguarding and promotion of student welfare
  • Support Radford’s strategic priorities and goals
  • Uphold Radford’s Values of Truth, Compassion and Wisdom

Qualifications

  • Teaching qualification recognised by the ACT Department of Education
  • Maintain registration as a teacher with the Teacher Quality Institute, including WWVP
  • Extensive teaching experience in providing learning support and enrichment to students in a secondary context.
  • Current First Aid Certificate
