ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL – CURRICULUM | Permanent Teaching appointment | Fixed Term (5-year tenure) for leadership

The opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Senior Executive Team for a fixed-term full-time Assistant Principal – Curriculum. This diverse and pivotal senior role holds a place on the Senior Executive and is responsible for ensuring that the College’s educational philosophy is implemented through exceptional delivery of assessment, reporting and curriculum within the College.

 
About the role

The Assistant Principal Curriculum is responsible for ensuring the educational programs are well structured and consistent with the College’s educational vision for the Secondary School.  The role supports continuous improvement using data, monitoring student outcomes across the Secondary School, and collaborating with key staff to implement effective data-driven learning and assessment frameworks, supporting the goal of providing our students with a holistic and inspiring education that enables them to reach their full potential.

About you

Having achieved appropriate tertiary qualifications, you are an excellent teaching practitioner in your subject area with a proven capacity to improve student learning. A high-level strategic thinker, your passion and commitment to leading continuous improvement is coupled with the ability to review and analyse data in conjunction with complex processes and systems. This has given you demonstrable experience in driving change management processes which identifiably contribute to strategic success. You are a confident self-starter who enjoys building relationships with multiple stakeholders both inside and outside of the organisation, possesses excellent leadership and communication skills, has a strong customer-service focus and can be relied upon to work autonomously.

Candidates must:

  • Have a sound understanding and knowledge of different teaching and learning styles
  • Demonstrate knowledge of relevant curriculum areas
  • Have a thorough understanding of assessment and reporting procedures
  • Be experienced in the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum, programs and policies
  • Have a proven capacity to model and share excellent teaching skills and knowledge
  • Demonstrate a passion for collaborative working as a member of a high-functioning team, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Possess excellent communications skills both written and verbal, as well as excellent time management skills
  • Commit to the safeguarding and promotion of student welfare
  • Support Radford’s strategic priorities and goals

Qualifications

  • Teaching qualification (preferably at Masters level)
  • TQI registration
