An excellent opportunity to work as an Archivist part time or full time for Monte Sant' Angelo Mercy College and/or the Sisters of Mercy, North Sydney!

An excellent opportunity has become available for a suitably qualified Archivist to work at Monte Sant' Angelo Mercy College (0.6 FTE) and/or the Sisters of Mercy, North Sydney (0.4 FTE).

This position is responsible for maintaining, organising and collating the Archives for Monte Sant' Angelo Mercy College, 3 days per week and there is also the opportunity to maintain, organise and collate the Archives for the Sisters of Mercy, North Sydney, 2 days per week. In this role you will be working closely with the archival materials of both organisations and documenting, managing and developing the Archives over time. This role will involve close liaison with the Library Manager for Monte and the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy, North Sydney as well as staff and students at Monte.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collect and preserve archival materials that illustrate the growth and development of both Monte and the Sisters of Mercy, North Sydney
  • Arrange archival materials according to archival principles and make them accessible to relevant staff and Sisters as required
  • Provide adequate and appropriate conditions for the storage, protection and preservation of archival material
  • At all times operating with confidentiality and maintaining records appropriately
  • Other duties as required

The ideal candidate/s will have excellent organisational skills, a high level of attention to detail, as well as the ability to deal professionally, confidentially and discretely with internal and external queries.

There are two part time positions available (0.6 FTE - Monte) (0.4 FTE - Sisters of Mercy, North Sydney) or one full time position for both organisations (1.0 FTE).
