Our Creative Industries Faculty is looking for a new permanent full-time Technician (STO). This faculty brings together the creative subject areas of food technology, design and visual communication, digital technology, media studies, digital media design and material design technologies. Your primary purpose is to support the Food Technology teaching staff to ensure that equipment and resources are managed to effectively and safely deliver the teaching programmes connected to this area.  Providing assistance in practical Food Technology lessons across all year levels.  

You will be:

•    Maintaining Food Technology resources and preparing teaching resources
•    Preparation and set up of materials for practical lessons and assessments as required. 
•    Establishing and maintaining an inventory of equipment, including storerooms and equipment rooms.
•    Managing, cleaning and maintenance of all equipment, including dishwashers, ovens, and chiller.  
•    Maintaining equipment as necessary and liaise with external contractors to coordinate remedial and routine machine and equipment           maintenance.
•    Adhering to Health & Safety requirements for food handling and storage and ensure that staff and students are aware of requirements.

You will have:  

•    Proven administration and support experience 
•    Customer service experience with a demonstrated customer service ethic 
•    Previous café /food industry experience related with emphasis on food preparation experience
•    Experience in placing accurate stock orders and inventory management
•    NZQA Certificate in Food handling and Hygiene desirable
•    Experienced with NZ Health & Safety standards and requirements
