Radford College is seeking an experienced candidate responsible for ensuring compliance with student attendance policies, absences, and certification

Permanent Full-time Term-time

 

Suitably experienced and qualified applicants are invited to apply for this permanent Student Attendance Officer position working full time hours during term time, with some school holiday hours by agreement.

The opportunity

Commencing in Term 2 2024, this role will ensure the College is compliant in relation to student attendance, notification of absences, and student certification

About the role

Displaying a high degree of initiative and having a proactive attitude, the Student Attendance Officer ensures that the College is compliant and adhering to student attendance and absence policies. The Student Attendance Officer is responsible for receiving notification of absences and ensuring student certification is completed and accurate.

About you

Being a student attendance officer, you will ideally have experience working in a school with an understanding of daily operations in a high school context, which is supported by your experience and skills in working with young people. You are a confident self-starter, who enjoys working proactively and building relationships with multiple stakeholders both inside and outside of the College, possesses excellent communication skills, has a strong customer-service focus and can be relied upon to work autonomously. You will bring your experience of working in an office environment and using the MS Office suite extensively. Candidates must:

  • Collaborating with Heads of Year to support and manage student attendance
  • Collate, maintain and update attendance data
  • Ensure completion of lesson attendance by staff members
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student absence within prescribed timeframes
  • Provide absence reports for the Heads of Years, Assistant Principal Students, and Head of Secondary School
  • Maintain an accurate system for students signing in/out of school
  • Collate and complete student attendance data materials for Census records
  • Possess excellent communications skills both written and verbal
  • Be highly organised with strong time management skills
  • Be reliable and punctual
  • Commit to the safeguarding and promotion of student welfare
