The Australian International Academy of Education is a co-educational Prep - 12 School of 1200 students situated on three campuses about 10 kilometres to the north and west of the city centre of Melbourne, Victoria - Australia's most liveable city. The Academy is dedicated to the provision of academic excellence within a caring Islamic environment. A large variety of ethnic and cultural origins are represented within the student and staff populations. The IB Programme and International Students Program form the focus for the development of an Internationalist outlook which seeks to send forth the leaders of succeeding generations who will work towards the building of a world of peace, harmony, cooperation and creative potential.
AIA adopted the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) in 1997. The mission of both AIA and the IB align in the areas of educational excellence and global citizenship.
The program is offered as a co-ed programme covering five years of studies from grade 6 to 10. Our AIA Middle year School is committed to professional and dedicated staff and programmes, encouraging excellence in academics, co-curricular activities and personal development, and well-resourced classrooms, where we continue to ensure students are well-prepared to take on their role as active and informed global citizens. Through a holistic education, AIA students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and to look beyond their own walls to determine how they may be able to help others, both within their own local and wider community.
The Academy has been offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma programme since 1994 with the aim of providing Muslim students the opportunity to develop the qualities for which the IB program is renowned for. Focused on university entry, the Diploma Programme ‘aims to develop students who have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge – students who flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically’ (IBO). Our experienced teachers and supportive environment provide local and overseas students the groundwork for achieving success.
